How Does A Dome Work?

Jesus Monteagudo

When my parents visited me in November, they told me that she suddenly on the way to the hotel faced a huge Jesus. On the way to Torrevieja I've driven past it and also on some corporate videos in the region of Murcia is the statue of Jesus to see. So preconceived Maren, Tini and I the Plan to attend this Jesus - by public transport. This proved to be difficult, since in Murcia are no tourists and no one reckons that tourists travel by public transport. So we googled first "Jesús montaña. After some research we found out that the mountain is the Jesus in the village of Monteagudo. Tini then googled "Latbus Monteagudo (Latbus is the bus company in Murcia) and promptly found the right line.

So we made our way to the adventure. Monteagudo is a small village away by bus only 20 minutes from Murcia. This village is dominated by the statue of Jesus on the Mount, because it is 150 meters high. The village is really pretty. There are many fields and lemon trees, and the plants flowered (in January!) And you hear birds chirping. A great contrast to the permanently busy downtown of Murcia.

We then ventured to climb on a gravel road. Of course nothing was backed up on a couple of small walls. The views of Murcia was great!

The other Wegplatten were on the edge partially crumbled already, so we were always close to the mountain along. Somewhere there was a large wall probably the cars should stop them from driving on the mountain. We were able to run alongside.

We walked further and further came up to a steel staircase. The latter was not modern, but had no railing, but was only held in the middle of the bottom. This was a very shaky affair, even if only one was on the stairs. The view was more beautiful! Even earlier nothing was shut off. In addition, you could see the ruins of the Castillo, which was earlier times have been the prison of the king. It was the 11th Century by the Arabs. There were also a few holes on the platform - again were generally not hedged. As we sat on the rocks and took photos, suddenly there were two guys - probably Russian - and a girl. The girl had only a bra on and very short shorts. Although we are in Murcia, but there were still 13 degrees. One boy was dressed normally, the other was wearing shorts and flip-flops. The guys took photos of the girl before the nice background. Then the girl and the boys climbed even higher up to the Jesus figure. We had given up, because the further rise of the steps were missing and there just hung a rope. When the three of us now but all intact from the Jesus statue waved off, we decided it once too . Try

I've even managed to climb the rope each. The steps thereafter were normal - that is for English conditions - and I was relatively quickly on a large platform with other parts of the Castillos. The three were there, and one Russian asked in German if I am German. It turned out that he came from Hamburg and Murcia tourist is. Aha. The stairs to Jesus was made of iron and looked very stable. It led into the base of the Jesus figure, was edgy from the outside and inside had a spiral staircase. The spiral staircase was quite ok, but it was close and scary. After all, there were openings and wall light shone. Sorry, I got a few turns into a part where there were no more windows. It was stockduster. So I turned around quickly. When I came down, the German came up to me and gave me his cell phone. This irritated me slightly. He had turned the flashlight on the phone and told me that I could go to the play in the spiral staircase. So I made this was creepy nonetheless. Eventually I arrived at the top and could only crawl out through a small opening. In spite of everything: The climb was worth it! The view was amazing and the huge statue of Jesus really is. You could go to the Jesus around, there was even a barrier, but still, I made only very close to Jesus a few pictures. Spain clung to the railing flags that are moving in the wind. I was glad when I was down again. Unfortunately it was a little difficult to play without steps, which I'd been climbing up the rope to come down again. I finally jumped, because I did not know the proper climbing techniques. But I am well below arrived.
Later came the Russians down to the girl. She has also made the descent in her bra and short shorts, just like the guys with flip-flops.

Once we were back down, we explored the surroundings a bit. There were an infinite number of lemon trees that were not fenced. So I plucked three lemons, exceptionally, for each one. They smell sooo yummy! Maybe I should but a lemon, an orange and an olive tree to import food. In your hand luggage with Ryanair.

At the foot Jesus gave the mountain there a English cemetery. I had already seen one in Andalusia, but this was very interesting. There are no graves, but boxing. Everywhere there are photos on it and there are small, enclosed spaces with pictures and candles as prayer rooms and chapels.

We then asked several people in the village, who were all very nice, for directions to the bus stop. We had to take a different line back around as the last bus drove back the one way line by 13 clock. They're really not set to tourists. We found the bus stop finally. The bus should arrive at 15:15 clock and arrived at 15:30 clock. But that's normal ;-) have a great trip, a strange giant Jesus, a beautiful village. Do not miss out!
